IU set an aggressive goal to increase their enrollment. To get there, they needed a media planning and buying partner who could operate as a true collaborative extension of their team – which is exactly what we do. Through our partnership, IU Bloomington has seen a 15% year-over-year increase in applications and IU Online a 21% increase. And we’re just getting started. “We have seen continuous success over the course of this relationship, and it has been critical to the growth in enrollment online and on-campus. FROM HUSTLE TO HEALTHY: FIGHTING STUDY DRUG ABUSE.
Colorado’s Coalition of Alcohol and Drug Educators (CADE) engaged The Basement to create a campaign that inspired college students to rethink their relationship with study drugs. The Basement dug deep to find the trend at the heart of student stimulant use: hustle culture. We created an iterative messaging approach to challenge the systemic trend, paired it with an innovative channel mix and caught some serious attention. How serious? 53 million impressions in six weeks and 1 million gif sticker views serious.
A LAUNCHPAD FOR THE GREATEST MINDS
As a $5B foundation, Purdue Research Foundation plays a major role in the growth of companies and technology commercialization. We were excited when they asked us to play a role in shaping their external communications and properties. Our work centered around creating new web properties for the various parts of the foundation, an undertaking that won us not only an Addy, but the praise of Kelly Nicholl, PRF’s VP of Marketing and Media. “The Basement has been a trusted partner, both at the IEDC and now at PRF,” she said. “They bring experts to the table who are willing to understand our needs and collaborate on the best solutions.”

The American College of Education—an online college well known in the education space—locked arms with The Basement to modernize their brand with a brand-new tone, look and feel. After discovering ACE’s profound desire to see students succeed, we landed on an iconic wayfinding direction. Its use of navigation aptly captured the soul of the brand — getting students where they wanted to go. The rebrand also got ACE where they wanted to go with a 121% increase in new users.
