Find ways to stand out or you won’t stand a chance.
Safe thinking is risky. Big ideas win every time.
The worst thing you can do for your brand is to think too small when something transformative is within reach. Aiming too low just leads to shooting yourself in the foot.
Strategic thinking fuels big results. When executed right, great ideas do more than grab attention—they transform brands. A single post can create a viral moment. Testing a tactic can inform a whole new strategy. Furthering an idea can push someone further down the funnel.
At The Basement, we don’t believe in small thinking. Only inventive ideas (that fit perfectly in the package you need delivered).
We’ll find sensational ways to create something extraordinary. If you have limited media, we’ll stretch it further than you thought possible. All we ask is that you think ambitiously alongside us.

Don’t fear the traditional route.
With 20+ standout billboards all within the stretch of a few miles, we turned Exit 92 into the must-stop spot on the Indiana Toll Road.
Exits. We drive past them every day and yet they could go unnoticed for years. Quite the opposite for the #1 pitstop on the Indiana Toll Road.
We placed over 20 billboards in a concentrated area, inundating drivers with the message to “Exit Right”. The campaign began with a simple idea—When you have to make that inevitable stop on a road trip, you want to make the most of it. Get all the snacks you could ever need. Embrace your inner fast foodie. Fill up your tank and the tires, too. You can’t go wrong when you Exit Right.
With our repetitive approach, we made Exit 92 impossible to ignore. It’s a reminder that even the largest formats demand unforgettable creative to make an impact.

Bend your rules and see results. A simple strategy shift drove $7MM in new revenue for Visit South Bend.
For this regional destination, we couldn’t change how much they were spending. But we could change how they were spending it.
After shifting their digital buy from an online travel agent (like Expedia)
to a meta search engine (like KAYAK) we unlocked literally every travel
site for reaching potential visitors.
A bonus? This let us use our revenue tracking to see where folks were coming from, and get better historical data.
This shift opened up new opportunities to reach potential visitors across a broader range of platforms, giving Visit South Bend the tools to better understand and engage with their audience. See the rest of the work here.
Finding new strategies in unlikely places.

When we submitted this ad to NextDoor, they asked if we were sure we wanted it to run. It quickly became so successful, they turned it into a case study.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’d miss that 35% of homeowners hide keys in obvious places. It only took a few internet sleuths to uncover how even trusty hiding spots are no match for Schlage’s keyless smart locks.
Making your ad feel native and natural can give people a pause. That pause can turn into a connection, and that connection can drive big wins.
